Rotate the CODE knob either clockwise or counterclockwise to display either "Yes" or "No" and
select the correct option. Once selected, press the ENT button to confirm selection and move to
the next configuration item in the setup mode.
The FDL-978 series receivers only receive on 978 MHz. Select "Yes" only if a 1090
MHz ADS-B receiver is installed on the aircraft.

UAT Receiver Installed

The display screen is as shown below with either Yes or No options.

All FDL-978 series units, except the -TXL, contain a UAT receiver and should
select the "Yes" option.

UAT Antenna Diversity

The default value is set at "Bottom Only."
It is recommended to install dual antennas for maximum coverage.
* Top only installations are not allowed per FAA AC 20-165B, Paragraph 3.8.3.5.
The FDL-DB-XVR provides the flexibility for installing either one or two approved UAT antennas.
When two antennas are used they are to be installed with one on the top and one on the bottom
of the aircraft. Single antenna installations must use Bottom Only to comply with AC 20-165B.
The default value is set at "Bottom Only." The following options can be selected:
