TROUBLESHOOTING
6.1
General
This section provides information for troubleshooting problems that occur after FDL-DB-XVR
installations. This section contains information on how to use the units LEDs and TC978
Controller to troubleshoot installation problems. Refer to SECTION 5 to set up and configure the
system.
6.2
FDL-DB Series LED Troubleshooting Procedure
The following is a quick reference troubleshooting guide using the FDL-DB-XVR LEDs:
Problem
No LED Activity
TX LED not active
RX LED not active
ST LED is on
ST LED is flashing
quickly
GPS LED is
flashing slowly
GPS LED is off
GPS LED is
flashing quickly

Potential Cause
No power
Unit is not transmitting
ADS-B messages
Unit is not receiving ADS-B
messages
A fault with the unit
GPS fault has occurred
GPS is acquiring satellites
GPS not communicating
GPS is reporting a fault
Troubleshooting
Verify power is turned on,
Check power connections to unit.
Check antenna connections,
Check Controller Warning messages
Check antenna connections,
Check Controller Warning messages
Check Controller Warning messages
Check GPS connection/configuration,
Check Controller Warning messages
Allow 2-3 minutes for GPS tracking,
Check GPS antenna,
Check GPS for problems
Check GPS connection,
Check installation configuration
Check GPS for fault
