10.4 Transport Position

To raise mower wings, drive the unit to a level area.
DO NOT raise the wings with the rotary cutter
positioned on an embankment. Prepare the FLEX-
ARM and rotary cutter for road transport as follows:
Retract the rotary cutter's lift and wing lift
hydraulic cylinders
Retract the FLEX-ARM hydraulic cylinder
Install the transport pin for the FLEX-ARM
hydraulic cylinder
Install transport pins for the rotary cutter center
section and wings. Refer to your rotary cutter
operator's manual for location of the transport
pins.
When the Wings are folded for transport, the center of gravity is raised and the possibility of
overturn is increased. Drive slowly and use extreme caution when turning on hillsides.
Overturning the Implement could cause the Implement to overturn the Tractor and vice
versa resulting in serious injury or even death.
Implement or unit may overturn.

10.5 Operating Position

To lower the wings, remove the transport lock pins and secure pins at storage location. DO NOT drive out
transport pins that have tension on them. After removing pins, extend wing hydraulic cylinders and fully lower
wings.
Wing hydraulic control valves should be set in the float detent during operation to allow the mower to follow
the contour of uneven terrain and to prevent the wings from creeping up. When extending a wing over a ditch
for mowing, place the control valve lever detents in the center position for greater stability. OPS-FLX-0007
Use extreme care when lowering or unfolding the implement's wings.
bystanders are close by or underneath the wings. Allow ample clearance around the
implement when folding or unfolding the wings. Use extreme caution around buildings or
overhead power lines.

10.6 Driving the Tractor, FLEX-ARM and Rotary Cutter

Start off driving at a slow speed and gradually increase your speed while maintaining complete control of the
tractor, flex-arm and cutterr. Moving slowly at first will also prevent the tractor from rearing up and loss of
steering control. The tractor should never be operated at speeds that cannot be safely handled or which will
prevent the operator from stopping quickly during an emergency. If the power steering or engine ceases
operating, stop the tractor immediately as the tractor will be difficult to control. OPS-FLX-0008
