ASSEMBLY

Adjust the Castor Springs

A compression spring is used to maintain friction
between the castor swivel plates and reduce the
tendency of the castor wheel to whip. Compression
spring tension should be set as follows:
1. Tighten the lower nut until the spring is fully
compressed.
2. Back the lower nut by one full turn.
3. Hold the position of the lower nut and tighten.

Check Tire Pressure

Check that tires are inflated to proper specifications. Refer to the Maintenance Section of this manual for
required tire pressures.
The FLEX-ARM can now be transported.

CONNECTING THE FLEX-ARM TO A ROTARY CUTTER

Connect Hydraulic Lines to the Tractor

When connecting the FLEX-ARM to the tractor it may be advantageous to be able to operate the main cylinder
on the FLEX-ARM. Connect the two hydraulic lines for the FLEX-ARM main cylinder to the tractor breakaways.
With the tractor shut down and secured in position, relieve hydraulic pressure from the tractor by moving the
control levers back and forth several times or placing the levers in the float position. When connecting the
hydraulic lines, keep hoses, quick couplers, and swivels free of contamination. Never leave a disconnected
hose end open and cap the tractor hydraulic outlet ports when not in use. If the tractor ports or implement
hydraulic hose ends become contaminated, wipe clean with a rag before connecting.
