Server Types

Both VDS-IS and VDS-TV consist of servers (CDEs) that are connected through Ethernet switches. The
Intel Xeon-based servers are populated with multiple high-capacity storage drives.
There are three distinct server types in VDS-IS:
Depending on your application, you may have multiple SEs and SRs. A network switch is employed to
link multiple servers together within a larger network.
There are six distinct server types in VDS-TV:

Connecting Network Cables

Using the topology prescribed for the application, attach network cables to the network interfaces on the
