Installing the Content Delivery Engines
This chapter provides the necessary information to properly install the Cisco Content Delivery Engines.

Tools and Parts Required

You need the following tools and parts to install the CDEs:

Unpacking the Box

Each Cisco CDE is securely packaged in a shipping box. The cards and power supplies ship installed in
the CDEs.
Proper ESD protection is required whenever you handle Cisco equipment. Installation and maintenance
Caution
personnel should be properly grounded through the use of grounding straps to eliminate the risk of ESD
damage to the equipment. CDEs are subject to ESD damage whenever they are removed from the chassis.
To unpack the shipping container, follow these steps:
