2.2 Introduction

Before connecting the analyzer to mains power, please read the chapter on
safety warnings and the following instructions carefully.
Disregarding may cause death, personnel injury or damage to equipment!
The place of installation must be clean, dry and protected against strong
vibrations and frost. Please observe the admissible operating temperatures
given in the technical data section.
Units must not be subjected to direct sunlight or sources of heat.
For outdoor installation it is recommended to install the unit in a cabinet.
It should at least be protected against rainfall.
In order to comply with regulations on elec-
tromagnetic compatibility, it is recommended
to use only shielded cables which can be
supplied by Emerson Process Management.
The customer must ensure that the shielding
is correctly connected to the signal cable plug
housing. Submin-d plugs and sockets must
be screwed to the analyzer.

ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
The use of external submin-d to screw-type
terminal adapters affects electromagnetic
compatibility. In such a case the customer
must take appropriate measures to comply
with the regulations, and must declare con-
formity when this is legally required (e.g.
European EMC guidelines).
