GENERAL.
TORQUE.
The torque values given in Chart 9102 are derived from oil-free cadmium-plated threads and are
recommended for all airframe installation procedures where torquing is required, unless otherwise noted.
Engine torque values are found in the latest revision of Lycoming Overhaul Manual, and propeller torque
values are found in Chapter 61 of this manual. Chart 9101 lists the torque values for flared fittings of various
sizes and material.
CAUTION
Do not overtorque fittings.
TIGHTENING NUTS ON FLARED TUBE ASSEMBLIES.
Nuts on metal flared tube assemblies shall be tightened finger tight and then tightened with a smooth
jawed wrench to the torque specified in Chart 9101. The fittings shall not be lubricated.

Values for aluminum tube also apply to copper tube. If any element of a given connection is aluminum (nut,
sleeve, nipple, tube, etc.) the values for aluminum tube shall apply.
