Maintenance
Note
High currents flow over a long period of time when charging the electric vehicle. The
electrical installation of the charging station must be checked regularly to prevent
overheating of cables and resulting damage.
Note
Only qualified personnel trained for these activities may perform this work.
The appendix contains the following lists:
• AUTOHOTSPOT
• Installation and maintenance schedule (Page 98)
Inspecting safety devices
The charging station has at least one integrated residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) and
miniature circuit breaker (MCB).
Check all protective devices during commissioning in accordance with the national
installation regulations. You can only check the RCCB/MCB combination when the supply
voltage is present. To check the function of the RCCB/MCB combination, press the test button
"T" of the RCCB/MCB combination.
Checking the safety equipment
Check protective devices of the charging station every six months in accordance with
manufacturer instructions. Follow these steps to check the protection equipment of the
charging station:
1. Open the charging station.
2. Press the test button "T" on the respective RCCB/MCB.
The RCCB/MCB trips, the respective status light starts flashing red.
3. Activate the RCCB/MCB by flipping the fuse switch.
Check the function of the residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) by pressing the test button
"T". This test does not replace the measurement for resistance earthing (RE) or proper
condition testing for the protective earth conductor.
Note
Note that you must perform the above test for each RCCB/MCB of the charging station.
Depending on the configuration of the charging station, one charging station comprises
several RCCB/MCBs. According to national installation regulations, you must document the
respective tests carried out on RCCB/MCBs.
