1. Cancel any running program, by holding the "Start/Stop" button pressed for 3
seconds. The appliance will be in standby mode then.
2. Simultaneously hold the buttons "°C/Time" and "Tea" pressed for 5 seconds.
The appliance will beep for 3 seconds, and all indicators on the top and bot-
tom line of the display will be illuminated. Thereafter, the factory settings will be
restored.

SOLVING PROBLEMS

If any problems occur during operation, you will find the solution in the following
table.
Problem
The kettle is placed
on the power base
and the appliance is
plugged in, but the
display is dark.
No response to your
entries.
The power base is
live, but all buttons
are dark. A continu-
ous signal sounds.
You cannot start
the desired pro-
gram.

Reason
If the appliance is idle for more
than 5 minutes, the appliance will
switch OFF completely to save
energy.
The desired entry is not possible
with the currently selected pro-
gram.
A program is still running. With
a program running, entries are
blocked.
Malfunction has occurred.
The overheat protection system
has been triggered (see: 'Self-
Resetting Dry Boil Protection').
The kettle is not placed on the
power base correctly.
The Solution
Simply press any button or remove the kettle from
the power base shortly to reactivate the display.
Select another program.
Cancel any running program (hold "Start/Stop"
pressed for 3 seconds). Then try again.
Unplug the appliance and leave the appliance cool
down to room temperature. Then try again.
Unplug the appliance, empty the kettle, and lea-
ve the kettle cool down for at least 30 minutes.
Thereafter, fill the kettle with at least 0.5 litres of
cold water and try again.
Too much scale is covering the heating plate,
causing overheating. De-scale the kettle (see: 'De-
scaling the Kettle').
Fill the kettle with at least 0.5 litres of water and
place the kettle on the power base. Try to turn the
kettle on the power base. Then try again.
