Mounting the SIMATIC NET OLM12M Optical Link Module
The SIMATIC NET OLM12M optical link modules can be mounted either on a 35 mm standard rail
complying with DIN EN 50 022 or directly on a flat surface.
Select the location so that the climatic limit values listed in the technical data are adhered to.
Make sure that there is enough space to connect the LAN and power supply cables.
Before mounting the optical link module, connect the fiber-optic cable. This makes it much
easier to attach the FO cable.
Make sure that the standard rail or plate used to mount the modules makes low-resistance and
low-inductance contact with ground. No further grounding measures are necessary.
Mounting on a Standard Rail
Hook the upper catch onto the rail and press against the lower part of the module as shown in
Figure 19 until it clips audibly into the rail.
To remove the module, pull down the lower catch.
