4.5 Operating OLM12M Modules with OLM/P3 or OLM/P4 Modules
The SIMATIC NET OLM12M optical link modules were specially designed for fast optical
transmission at 12 Mbps.
At transmission rates of 187.5 Kbps, 500 Kbps and 1.5 Mbps, you can mix OLM12M and OLM/P
modules as required when using a bus topology.
Read the section on bus topology.
The FO cable sections cannot be monitored in this mixed mode and if a fault occurs, there is no
segmentation.
Set the OLMs to the following modes:
