Start the engine.

Check for continuity to ground:
should be continuity.
Check for voltage to ground:
should be battery voltage.
Check for voltage to ground:
should be battery voltage.
Check for continuity to ground:
should be continuity as the
switch is pushed.
Connect to ground: Rear
window defogger should work
and the defogger switch
indicator light should come on.
Test:

Check for continuity to ground:
should be continuity.
Check for voltage to ground:
should be battery voltage.
Check for voltage to ground:
should be battery voltage.
Check for voltage to ground:
should be battery voltage.
Check for continuity to ground:
should be continuity.
Check light operation.
If the light does not come on,
attach the YEL/RED terminal to
ground: Light should come on
as the ignition switch is turned
ON.
Check for voltage to ground:
should be battery voltage.
View from wire side
Possible cause (if result is not obtained)
Poor ground (G401, G402).

An open in the wire.

Blown No. 34 (I 5A) fuse.

An open in the wire.
l
Blown No. 5 (lOA) or No. 29
l
An open in the wire.

Faulty defogger switch.

Poor ground (G401, G402).

An open in the wire.

Blown No. 4 (15 A) fuse.

Faulty defogger relay.
l
Blown bulb.
l
An open in the wire.

Poor ground (G401, G402).

Blown No. 34 (15A) fuse.

Blown No. 5 (IOA) or No. 29
