About the HBA port mode
configuration
This chapter includes the following topics:
About FTMS reserved HBA ports and the factory
default port mode configuration
All Fibre Channel (FC) HBA ports on the NetBackup 52xx and 53xx appliance
default to the standard initiator mode. However, to use the appliance as a target
for hosting backup images from SAN clients or another appliance, you need to use
the target mode of the ports. The NetBackup appliance provides a predefined target
port configuration for use by the Fibre Transport media server (FTMS) feature, and
also for optimized duplication and Auto Image Replication over FC. The predefined
port configuration is applied when you enable the related feature if you have not
customized the port configuration.
Note: Before you start configuring a particular FC feature on the appliance, make
sure to check that it is supported with your appliance configuration.

on page 14.
