Chapter 1: Introduction

Symbols and Warnings

The following symbols are used throughout the documentation to alert you to potential danger in operating the scanner.
Symbol
Description
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the presence of
important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the
presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient
magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
The flat surface with waves symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the
presence of hot surfaces which could cause burn damage.
Caution: Federal (U.S.) law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of an appropriately licensed healthcare practitioner.
IMPORTANT
If the scanner is used in any manner not specified in this documentation, the protection provided by the equipment may be
impaired.
WARNING: This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy. If not installed and used in accordance
with the instructions in this manual it may cause interference to radio communications. It has been tested and found to
comply with the limits for a Class A computing device (pursuant to Subpart B of Part 15 FCC Rules), which are designed to
provide reasonable protection against such interference when operated in a commercial environment.
