Sealing the terminal box

NOTICE
!
!
Risk of short-circuit due to condensation water
in the terminal box!
Use only standardised components for cable
bushing.
When mounting, pay attention to proper sealing.
▶ Mount each screwed cable gland carefully with lock-
nut.
▶ Close the cable gland tight around the cable.
▶ Depending on the atmosphere at the place of install-
ation or local regulations, replace the sealing plugs
on the terminal box. Deliveries to UL areas include
plugs with UL approval.
6.5.6

Preparing the terminal box for FI operation

▶ Use EMC screwed cable glands for the power
voltage supply.
▶ Connect the EMC screwed cable glands to the shield
connection plate.
▶ Connect the protective earth conductor of the shield
connection plate to the earth connection of the ter-
minal plate. The required components are included
in the scope of delivery.
6.6 Safety switching devices for limiting the
pressue (high pressure switch and low
pressure switch)
• Are required for securing the application range of the
compressor in order to avoid unpermissible operat-
ing conditions.
• For connection positions see connection diagrams.
• and perform a test to exactly check them.
▶ Connection positions see dimensional drawings.
▶ Do not connect any safety devices to the mainten-
ance connection of the shut-off valve!
▶ Set cut-in and cut-out pressures according to the ap-
plication limits.
▶ Precisely check the setted cut-in and cut-out pres-
sures.

6.7 Compressor protection devices

The standard state of delivery contains a compressor
protection device mounted into the terminal box. The
electrical safety of the compressor according to
EN12693 is ensured with all compressor protection
devices available by BITZER. Any other electric protec-
tion needs to be assessed by the user for each single
case.
NOTICE
!
!
Compressor protection device may fail after too
high voltage has been applied. Possible sub-
sequent fault: compressor failure.
The cables and terminals of the temperature
control circuit must not come into contact with
the control voltage or operating voltage!
Mind label in terminal box cover. Observe the notes.
The compressor protection device must not reset by an
automatism.
6.7.1

Temperature control circuit

In the state of delivery, the monitoring of motor and oil
temperature is completely wired and connected to the
compressor protection device. All sensors in the tem-
perature control circuit are connected in series.
6.7.2
Monitoring of rotation direction, phase
sequence and phase failure
The control circuit for monitoring of rotation direction,
phase sequence and phase failure is also completely
wired in the state of delivery.
6.7.3

SE-E1

This compressor protection device is incorporated as
standard in the terminal box of all HS. and CS. com-
pressors, except for compressors with CM-SW-01.
Monitoring functions:
• temperature control circuit
• rotation direction/phase sequence
• phase failure
The compressor protection device monitors rotation dir-
ection and phase sequence in the first five seconds
after the compressor has been supplie with voltage.
The SE-E1 locks out immediately in case of overtem-
perature or rotation direction/phase sequence and after
three phase failures in 18 minutes or ten phase failures
in 24 hours. Interrupt the voltage supply for at least five
seconds to reset the compressor protection device.
