6 Electrical connection

According to the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
Annex I the safety objectives set out in EU Low Voltage
Directive 2014/35/EU shall apply to the compressors
and their electrical equipment. For any work on system
electrics: Observe EN60204-1, the safety standard
series IEC60364 and national safety regulations.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Before performing any work in the terminal box
of the compressor: Switch off the main switch
and secure it against being switched on again!
Close the terminal box of the compressor before
switching on again!

6.1 Checklist

This checklist summarises the work steps for the elec-
trical connection of compressors. See the following
subchapter for details.
▶ Connect the compressor only if the nominal supply
voltage matches the name plate data.
▶ Observe the adhesive label in the terminal box
cover.
▶ Use flexible cables.
▶ Use suitable wire end ferrules, notch-type cable lugs,
compression cable lugs, tubular or crimping cable
lugs.
▶ Connect the protective earth conductor.
▶ Integrate the compressor protection device into the
safety chain.
▶ Also integrate the high pressure and low pressure
switch into the safety chain.
