MLA System
ENTER
Switches to a selected menu or sub menu with subsequent presses depending on the screen presently
selected
RIGHT
Navigates to the next menu screen to the right
LEFT
Navigates to the next menu screen to the left.
BACK
Returns to the previous screen displayed.
Input Mutes
Will mute the relevant input; the switch will turn red when muted.
Input Edit
Selects the relevant input for editing bringing up the input parameters on the screen; the switch will turn
green when selected.
Input meters
Gives a visual indication of the level of signal applied to the input. The meters have six segments displaying
-24, -18, -6, -3, -1dB before clipping and the sixth indicates clipping.
Display
The display is a 2 row, 24 alphanumeric character LCD black display (white characters on a dark blue
background for optimum visibility).
FREQ
Where a selected parameter has a frequency component such as a parametric equaliser, the frequency is
adjusted with the FREQ velocity sensitive encoder.
Q
Where a selected parameter has a bandwidth component such as a parametric equaliser, the Q is adjusted
with the Q velocity sensitive encoder.
GAIN
Where a selected parameter has a gain component such as a parametric equaliser, the level is adjusted
with the GAIN velocity sensitive encoder.
AES Mode
The in and out AES indicators illuminate when with the inputs or outputs have been switched to accept
AES/EBU inputs instead of analogue
PC
Two indicators show the activity of the Ethernet port on the rear panel which is the primary PC connection.
The CON LED will illuminate when an Ethernet connection is established either directly to a PC or to an
Ethernet Hub or switch. The ACT LED will flash whenever there is data transfer via the Ethernet port.
U-NET
The U-NET LEDs for the rear panel U-NET ports 1 & 2 indicate U-NET connections, data transfer and errors.
Precise operation to be determined.
Output Mutes
Will mute the output; the switch will turn red when the relevant output is muted.
Output Edit
Selects the relevant output for editing bringing up the output parameters on the screen; the switch will
turn green when selected.
Output meters
Gives a visual indication of the level of signal present at the output. The meters have six segments
displaying -24, -18, -6, -3, -1dB before limiting and the sixth indicates limiter operation.
USB
The USB connection is used as a service post for Firmware upgrades and diagnostics of the Merlin
