8.4 Email settings
Email Settings
To configure the email account open the Settings dialog and enter the following data:
● Email Address
The email address assigned to the MAG 8000 OPC Server.
● User Name
The user name of the email account assigned to the OPC Server. The user name is normally
the same as the email address.
● Password
The password for the email account assigned to the OPC Server.
● Server Name
The server name for incoming mails (POP3 protocol) of the email account assigned to the
OPC Server. The server name usually starts with pop.
– Checkbox "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)"
– Checkbox "Leave a copy of the emails on the server"

Set this option if the email account requires a secure connection.
Emails that are handled (entered into the database) are deleted from the server the next
time the application connects to the server.
In some rare cases (such as testing) it can be useful to leave the emails on the server.
In all other cases we do not recommend leaving the emails on the server because doing
so decreases performance.
