Power consumption

The Wireless Communication Module comes with a Li-ion rechargeable battery. The battery is
charged by the MAG 8000 at 20 mA current. The extra power consumption of the Wireless
Communication Module is only logged by the Wireless Communication Module. Therefore the
battery capacity read from the Wireless Communication Module differs from the battery
capacity read by the MAG 8000. The battery capacity read by the Wireless Communication
Module is the more accurate one.
The battery lifetime of the MAG 8000 with the Wireless Communication Module is affected by
the following factors:
● Data transmission interval (parameter P56)
● Network signal strength at the installation
● Ambient temperature
● Size of data to be transmitted
● Sensor size and excitation frequency
The average battery lifetime of a 2 D-cell battery pack with size DN25-DN150 is 3-4 years.
