The procedures for connecting external cables to the power terminals on an AC
power module or terminal block unit are described below.
• Make sure that no power is supplied to the external cable before connecting it.
• Otherwise, there is the danger of electric shock.
(1) Open the cover of the external I/O terminals.
(2) Loosen the terminal screw (M3) by turning it counterclockwise with a Phillips
screwdriver, and remove the screw from the terminal block.
(3) Insert the terminal of an external cable from the left and pass the terminal screw
through the terminal hole.
(4) Turn the terminal screw clockwise with a Phillips screwdriver, and tighten it together
with the external cable terminal on the external I/O terminal.
(5) Connect all the external cables to the external I/O terminals as described in Steps (1)
to (3) above. Then close the cover of the terminal block.
To connect a CPU and Engineering Tool, use a special RS-232C cable with a modular
connector on one end.
• Do not bend the hook of the modular connector in the other direction.
• Make sure to pull out the cable by holding its connector, not the cable itself.
• The cable may be broken.
• Connection
Check the modular connector direction, and push it in until it clicks.
• Disconnection
Pull it out with the hook of the modular connector held.
