Setting network ID and subnet mask

56
Use the operation mode setting switches and the host ID setting switches to set network
parameters.
For details of the setting procedures, see Table 1-17 "Host ID Setting" and Table 1-18
"Setting switches" .
For EN531/EN531T, set the following network parameters.
• IP address types
• Host IDs
• Multicast address groups
Make sure to set IP address types and host IDs. Set a multicast address group when
multicast transmission is used.
Two IP address types are available to the EN5 modules as follows.
• TOSDIC-CIE 1200 (Integrated Controller standard setting)
• Optional
Setting TOSDIC-CIE 1200
If optional setting with the Engineering Tool is not selected, the default IP address
type TOSDIC-CIE 1200 is used. This address type permits connection to the
TOSDIC-CIE 1200, which is of dual 10BASE2 transmission line configuration.
Line A network ID:192.0.0.xx (where xx is the value specified by the host ID setting
switch)
Subnet mask:
255.255.255.192
Optional setting
Select the IP address type Setting from Tool using the operation mode setting switch.
An network address can now be set from the Engineering Tool as de
sired, and has priority over the value set with the host ID setting switch.
In using a system of dual transmission line configuration where the IP address type
Setting from Tool is selected, set the subnet mask as follows:
Class B: 255.255.192.0
Class C: 255.255.255.192
Set an IP address for line A from the Engineering Tool.
Example 1) Class B
If the network ID of 172.20.0.0 and the host ID of 03H are set, the IP
address will be as follows.
IP address of line A: 172.20.64.3
Example 2) Class C:
When the network ID is set to 192.168.32.xxx and the host ID to 3, the IP
address will be:
ID address: 192.168.32.67
IP address of line A: 192.168.32.67 (67=64+3).
