The CPU module executes self-diagnosis by hardware or software. If any error occurs,
its details can be logged in the CPU module, and can be read using the Engineering Tool
whenever necessary.
The operation history and operation/transmission traces of the CPU module can be
recorded.
The CPU module executes the following 4 types of traces.
• Error trace
All the error information on the hardware and software is logged.
• Event trace
Power-on, power-off, and changes of operation modes are logged.
• Operation trace
Operations from the monitoring unit and host system, including tag and sequence
mode changes, and process alarm confirmations, are logged.
• Transmission trace
Events generated by TOSLINE-S20LP or Ethernet transmission are logged.
Supplementary Note
When any error occurs, read these four types of traces using the Engineering Tool, and find out
the cause. For details of trace information, see online help for the Engineering Tool, or
Appendix C at the end of this manual.
