Removing the service access cover from a rack-mounted 9008-22L,
9009-22A, or 9223-22H system
Use this procedure to remove the service access cover from a rack-mounted IBM Power System L922
(9008-22L), IBM Power System S922 (9009-22A), or IBM Power System H922 (9223-22H) server.
Before you begin
Attention:
Operating the system without the cover for more than 10 minutes might damage the system
components. For proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before turning on the system.
Procedure
1. Ensure that you have the electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap on and that the ESD clip is plugged
into a ground jack or connected to an unpainted metal surface. If not, do so now.
2. Release the service access cover latch by pushing the release latch (A) in the direction shown.
3. Slide the cover (B) off the system unit. When the front of the service access cover clears the upper
frame ledge, lift the cover up and off the system unit.
