the SIP Server. Use the ping command to verify that the SIP server can communicate with
the Secure Router 2330/4134 SIP gateway.
Also, if the Secure Router 2330/4134 SIP Media Gateway is configured with FQDN, then verify
whether the FQDN can be resolved. Be sure that the DNS server is specified using the ip
pname_server command. Ensure that the DNS server is reachable.
There are several other potential reasons for call failures. You can debug many of these issues
with information provided by routing traces.
To enable routing traces, enter the debug voice cc routing command.
Digit stripping enabled or digit forwarding disabled
To successfully terminate a call to a POTS dial peer, digit stripping must be disabled or digit
forwarding must be enabled.
The following figure shows a sample output for the debug voice cc routing command.
The output shows that, after the Secure Router 2330/4134 applies digit processing, there is
no destination number for the call. In this case, the dial peer corresponding to the dialed number
might have digit stripping enabled and digit forwarding disabled.

To display the dial peer configuration, enter show dial-peer voice.
