Troubleshooting Quality of Service
3. Unable to map a policy-map to an interface
286
Troubleshooting
Description: In general, user should be able to delete a policy-map configured
unless it is in use.
Troubleshooting tips: Some of the reasons that could result in the above behavior
are described below:
• Policy-map is attached to one/more interfaces. The policy-map being deleted
is already attached to one/more interfaces. The service-policy mappings need
to be removed from all the interfaces to which it is attached before deleting the
policy-map. Use the following command to see the service-policy-mappings:
show qos module service-policy
• Policy-map is auto-qos policy. User will not be able to delete an auto-qos policy
map. If auto-qos needs to be disabled, use no enable-auto-qos command
either globally or on the interface. Use the following command to see the
service policy mappings: show qos module service-policy
Symptom: User may not be able to map a service-policy to an interface and error
is reported.
Description: User sometimes will not be able to map a policy-map to an interface
and error will be reported.
Troubleshooting tips: Some of the reasons that could result in the above behavior
are described below:
• Auto-qos is already enabled on the interface. If auto-qos is enabled on the
interface, the default auto-qos policy will already be attached to the interface.
To attach a user policy-map to the interface, remove auto-qos configuration
on the interface first and then attempt to attach the user policy-map to the
interface. Use the following command to see the service policy mappings:
show qos module service-policy
