• When all blast gates are open and the exhaust is On, begin the balancing pro-
cess.
• Start at the Load End blast gate and with the pitot tube inserted into the mea-
suring hole parallel to the flow of air (the opening of the tube placed so that
air flows directly into it), adjust the blast gate until the manometer reads 0.08
inches of water. See Figure 2–29 for reference.

• Next move to the center port blast gate that is closest to the Load End. Again
placing the pitot tube so that it is parallel to the flow of air, adjust the blast
gate until the manometer reads 0.18 inches of water.
• The third recommended measuring point and adjustment is at the Unload End
blast gate. Proceed from there to the center port blast gate closest to the
Unload End.
• When the four (4) blast gates are adjusted, it is necessary to repeat the pro-
cedure, beginning again at the Load End blast gate and continuing until all of
the gates are re–adjusted. Refer to Figure 2–30 for location of the measure-
ment points and blast gates. It may require further repetition until all measure-
ments are accurate.
