  • Page 30: General Configuration Information

CamDisc HNVR Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis General Configuration Information Configure your system with all cameras connected and all final camera perspectives set, for best results. This enables precise calculation of images sizes detected in CamDisc HNVR configuration mode. If possible, use conditional refresh mode (differential image compression). This method is more efficient than the option single image compression.
  • Page 31 HeiTel by Xtralis CamDisc HNVR Product Guide During live transmission of images from analogue cameras, CamDisc HNVR inserts the date and time into the image top right, conforming to ISO 8601. To distinguish different images stored at the same time from each other, a consecutive image number is displayed after date and time data, separated by a period or a space.

  • Page 34: Recording Modes

CamDisc HNVR Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis FIFO CamDisc HNVR uses FIFO (First In First Out) for recording. The oldest images or events will be overwritten with new recordings after a certain period of time. Hard disk partitioning into camera tracks prevents recorded images from being overwritten by data from other cameras.
  • Page 35: Continuous Recording

HeiTel by Xtralis CamDisc HNVR Product Guide Flexible storage space allocation The illustration above shows flexible storage capacity allocation for permanent recording and event triggered recording. On the basis of the recording settings, CamControl LITE or CamControl PRO software calculate the required storage capacity. The calculated values are estimates, actual values may deviate due to changes in actual image data volume, proportion of motion, and selected resolution being considered.
  • Page 36 CamDisc HNVR Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Frame rate examples Delay between recording 2 frames (sec.) 1.00 0.50 0.25 0.20 0.10 0.05 Frames per second (fps ) maximum Optimised permanent recording This method can be combined with external sensors or integrated motion detection to optimise storage capacity.
  • Page 37 HeiTel by Xtralis CamDisc HNVR Product Guide Continuous recording and permanent contact The opened and closed states are used to control permanent recording. The logical state Open corresponds to an unswitched control input, and Closed to a grounded contact. Different recording speeds can be defined for both states.
  • Page 38 CamDisc HNVR Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Figure 5-2: Continuous recording with edge sensitive control input Continuous recording and motion detection Integrated motion detection with adjustable sensitivity and definable detection areas can be used for recording according to the same principles ruling continuous recording with external detectors. It is important to consider the state of the respective control input Open or Closed.
  • Page 39 HeiTel by Xtralis CamDisc HNVR Product Guide Figure 5-4: Event triggered recording with pre-alarm, alarm image and post alarm For event triggered recording, recording is controlled by the corresponding control input and/or integrated motion detection. Event triggered recording creates a separate entry in the image database for each event, as opposed to continuous recording.
  • Page 40 CamDisc HNVR Product Guide HeiTel by Xtralis Event triggered recording controlled by contacts This mode triggers event recording by control input status changes. A normally closed contact produces a positive edge upon opening (from low to high, Edge +) while a normally open contact produces a negative edge (Edge –) upon closing.
