Precautions
For Security When Using Fingerprint Authentication
Fingerprint authentication does not guarantee complete user authentication and identification. Please note that we cannot accept liab-
ility for any loss or damage incurred from your use or inability to use fingerprint authentication. Please be forewarned.
We cannot accept liability for any loss of data due to malfunction of the fingerprint reader.
Registration may be impossible if there is insufficient fingerprint or other information to identify an individual.
Fingerprint Reader Handling
Avoid the following. Failure to do so may result in malfunction or damage to the fingerprint reader.
Do not rub or scratch the reader with hard materials or poke it with small pointed objects that could cause scratches.
Do not touch the surface with dirty fingers.
Do not soil or cover the reader with a sticker.
In the following cases, fingerprint reader sensitivity may be degraded, impeding or preventing authentication and registration.
If the surface of the fingerprint reader is soiled with dirt, skin oil, or sweat
If the surface of the fingerprint reader is wet by moisture or condensation
If your finger is too wet or too dry
If your finger is wounded or inflamed
If your fingerprint grooves have become too shallow due to wear
If you touch the fingerprint reader while sliding your finger
If you touch the fingerprint reader with a finger at an angle
If the pressing force to touch the fingerprint reader is weak
If your finger is swollen, such as from bathing
If your fingerprint has changed due to weight loss or gain
Fingerprint reader sensitivity may be restored by the following.
Wipe the fingerprint reader with a soft cloth.
Wash and wipe your hands.
Use another finger for registration and authentication.
If your finger is extremely dry, moisten it using hand cream.
Static electricity can cause the fingerprint reader to malfunction. To discharge static electricity, touch a metal surface before touching
the fingerprint reader. Be especially careful about static electricity in the winter and in other dry conditions.
When a faulty fingerprint reader is repaired, previously saved passwords may be reset in the process. Please be forewarned.
Setting a Password
If you forget your sign in password you will be unable to use the device or Windows, so be absolutely certain that you will not forget it.
