Discreted GPU

Precautions
For the users of the model with Discreted GPU
Your computer is equipped with two graphics processing units (GPUs). The Intel
graphics display performance. The discrete GPU consumes more power, but maintains a higher graphics display performance. Normally, only the Intel
GPU is activated, but when you launch an application program requiring high graphics display performance, the discrete GPU activates to assist the Intel
GPU, allowing you to enjoy high quality video on the screen.
In this manual, refer to the sections preceded by the following descriptions, whenever they appear.
Always activating or deactivating the discrete GPU
Since the discrete GPU for high graphics display performance is activated and deactivated automatically, you do not have to worry about which of the two
GPUs are currently used. You can also specify whether or not to automatically activate the discrete GPU by program. Perform the procedure below.
1. Click
(Start) -
2. Click [Graphics settings].
3. Select [Universal app] under "Choose an app to set preference".
4. Select the application you want to set from the drop-down list displayed below.
If the application you want to set is not listed, select [Classic app] under "Choose an app to set preference".
Click [Browse] to select the .exe file you want to add, click [Add].
5. Click [Add].
6. Click the displayed application, and click [Options].
7. Choose whether to run applications on the [High performance], [Power saving] or [System default].
8. Click [Save].
