Step 2-2. Register Fingerprint Data
1. Enter fingerprints on the fingerprint reader.
Enter the fingerprint of one finger more than once until the scan is complete. Repeat touching and releasing your finger on the fin-
gerprint reader.
The progress of the fingerprint is displayed on the "Windows Hello setup" screen.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
2. To register more fingers, click [Add another finger] and repeat the same procedure.
Step 2-3. Set up a PIN number
1. Click [Set up PIN].
2. Enter your account password, and click [OK].
3. Enter your PIN number in [New PIN].
4. Enter your PIN number again in [Confirm PIN], and click [OK].

Register at least two fingers. That way, if by any chance one finger is injured, another can be used.

To prevent scanning errors, pay attention to the following.
n
Touch the fingerprint reader with the first joint of the finger you want to register.
In the following cases, the fingerprint reader may fail to register or authenticate.
n
You touch the fingerprint reader while sliding your finger.
You touch the fingerprint reader with a finger at an angle.
The pressing force to touch the fingerprint reader is weak.
The finger is dirty or scarred.
The finger is too wet or too dry.

In rare cases, features necessary for fingerprint authentication may not be detected.

In such cases, try registering another finger.
Step 3. Perform Pre-boot authentication (PBA) as necessary.
If you set the Supervisor Password with the fingerprint registered, you can perform pre-boot authentication with a fingerprint instead of the password.

1. Turn on the computer.
2. When the screen to sign in to Windows is displayed, touch the registered finger on the fingerprint reader.
3. Windows start up.
