3.2 Indications
Patellofemoral malalignment
Patellofemoral pain syndrome
Retropatellar osteoarthritis
Chondropathy/chondromalacia patellae
Condition after patella luxations and subluxations
Condition after injury to the patellar tendon
Anterior knee pain after surgical procedures on the knee (e.g. total knee replacement, lateral
release surgery)
Indications must be determined by the physician.
3.3 Contraindications
3.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
Not known.
3.3.2 Relative Contraindications
The following indications require consultation with a physician: skin diseases/injuries, inflamma­
tion, prominent scars that are swollen, reddening and hyperthermia of the fitted limb; pronounced
varicose veins, especially with return flow impairment, lymphatic flow disorders, including unclear
soft tissue swelling distant to the body area to which the support will be applied; sensory and cir­
culatory disorders in the area of the legs, e.g. in case of diabetic neuropathy.
3.4 Further Usage Restrictions
The orthosis is suitable for sports that may involve bodily contact with other persons (contact
sports) exclusively in combination with the 29K129 sports cover.
3.5 Effects
The orthosis realigns the patella to its physiological position at a knee flexion angle of approx. 10°
to 30°.
