Information on connecting the field bus

Bus power supply

Avoid long distances between the bus interface supply and
the CPX terminal.
Caution
Make sure the polarity is correct when you connect the

field bus interface and the power supply for the bus
interface/internal logics.
Protect the power supply for the bus interface with an
·
external fuse, in accordance with the number of bus
slaves.
Connect the screen.

Note
Power supply is needed over the field bus cable (pin 3 and
pin 9 on the Sub−D plug).
Bus slaves have different tolerances in respect of the
interface power supply, depending on the manufacturer.
Observe this when planning the bus length and placing the
power supply unit.
The following tolerance in the bus interface power supply
(pin 3/pin 9 on the sub−D plug) applies to the CPX terminal:
V = 30.0 V
max
V = 11.0 V
min
Recommendation:
Place the power supply unit approximately at the centre of
the bus.
