Should a new terminal device be adapted, it must be slid into the wrist unit
while locking is performed automatically.
6.3 Flexion
The push button 3 (fig. 3) releases flexion and extension of the 10V39=*
MovoWrist Flex for positioning in 5 lock positions. After releasing the push
button 3, the terminal device will lock in one of the flexion lock positions.
7 Mounting instructions MovoWrist Flex 10V39
7.1 Mounting MovoWrist Flex 10V39
The mechanics of the wrist unit must be separated from the lamination
ring with Allen wrench size 3 (fig. 4). In order to avoid soiling the lamina-
tion ring in the subsequent steps, replace the included protective cover
with slight pressure (fig. 5). The flexion level of the mechanics is indicated
on the lamination ring by a notch (fig. 2). Bring the lamination ring in the
forearm socket into the correct position according to the course of flexion.
Mark the position of the notch on the forearm socket (fig. 6). To create a
firm connection with the lamination ring, roughen the bonding surface on
the inside of the forearm socket. Mark the 20-mm height of the lamination
ring on the lower arm (fig. 7). Clean the bonding surfaces on the lamina-
tion ring and lower arm with acetone. After cleaning, let the acetone air
dry and do not touch the bonding surfaces. Mask the outside of the lower
arm off using Polyethylene Adhesive Tape 627B4 to avoid soiling it while
gluing. Mix Orthocryl® Sealing Resin Compact Glue 636K18=1 and Hard-
ener Paste 617H14 in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
Apply sealing resin on the lamination ring and lower arm (fig. 8) and flush-
align the lamination ring with the lower arm. Make sure that the notches
in the lamination ring are flush with the marking on the lower arm made
previously. After hardening the sealing resin (for hardening time see the
manufacturer's specifications), push out the protective cover (fig. 9). Make
sure that the sealing resin is spread over the entire surface between the
lamination ring and the forearm socket and that no sealing resin penetrates
into the bore holes (fig. 10). After the removal of the protective cover, lightly
apply the 636K14 Loctite® 601 on the lower third of the locking screw of
the mechanics and screw into the lamination ring with a torque of 5 Nm
(fig. 11). Remove excessive Loctite®.
