Designated use

The control block is designed exclusively for reversing a pneumatic double-acting
actuator and can be used to implement the following safety functions:
– Safe reversal of a hazardous movement, provided the reversing motion itself
will not result in further hazards.
Reversing means the reversal of a hazardous movement (corresponding to the
safe direction of movement). Reversing does not correspond to reaching the
cylinder end position (because potential failure modes must be taken into
account).
– Protection against manipulation, prevention of unexpected start-up (EN 1037)
The product is intended for installation in machines or automated systems and
may be used only in the following ways:
– in an industrial environment
– within the limits of the product defined by the technical data (see chap. 13)
– in original status without unauthorised modifications (exceptions
see chap. 11)
– in a flawless technical condition:
If defects are detected in terms of the product or its function, suitable
measures to maintain the safety level must be initiated.
– in standard operation, which also includes rest, set-up and service operation
as well as emergency operation

Possible incorrect application

Note
In the event of damage caused by unauthorised manipulation or other than
intended use, the guarantee is invalidated and the manufacturer is not liable
for damages.
Non-intended use includes the following foreseeable misuse:
– use outdoors
– use outside industrial environments
