Have the patient in a supine position. Expose the
patient's upper arm so that it is bare or has only one
layer of thin clothing.
If the cuff is being placed over thin clothing, pull the
clothing straight so that it does not bunch up at the
artery. If the cuff is wrapped around the arm with
clothing bunched up, the blood pressure will measure
higher than the actual value

Position the arrows on the creases.

Tighten the cuff so that two fingers can be just
barely inserted under the cuff.
