M9302A Operational Check Procedure
Run this operational check prior to the Agilent M9351A PXI Downconverter module or the Agilent
M9361A PXI Downconverter module. The M9302A is used in performing the operational check of
these downconverters.
1. Run the M9302A soft front panel (SFP).
2. Conduct a Self Test (Utility > Self Test... > Run Self Test).
a. If self test passes, go to next step.
b. If self test fails, the module needs repair.
3. Check the voltage and PLL indicators. They are GREEN if the power supplies are good and the M9302A LO
and Reference loops are locked.
4. Set the LO Frequency to 3 GHz. The LO is always enabled.
5. Using the power meter:
a. Connect the power sensor to LO OUT.
b. Verify the power is +16 dBm (±2 dB).
6. Change the LO Frequency from 2.75 GHz to 10 GHz in 500-MHz steps, validating that the power is still +16
dBm (±2 dB).
7. Enable 10 MHz REF OUT.
8. Using the power meter:
a. Connect the power meter to the 10 MHz REF OUT, 100 MHz REF 1 OUT, and 100 MHz REF 2
OUT.
b. Verify the output levels are 0 dBm (±3 dB).
9. If all measurements are correct the module is working properly – if not, the module requires servicing.
