7.3.3 Cylinder replacement

Note
n
Be sure that no dirt etc. gets into the hydraulic system when the hydraulic
components are dismantled and assembled.
The weights of cylinder and locking device are so high that use of the hydraulic
system to lower the cylinder is advised. This procedure is described next.
1.
Raise the lift to a height of at least 4 1/4 feet (1300 mm) and support the track as
shown in
Figure 7.2 Supporting the track
Note
n
At a height higher than 4 1/4 feet (1300 mm) the cylinder cannot pass the end plate
of the track.
2.
Lower the track onto the support and the locking pawls of the other 3 legs, to make
sure that there is no hydraulic pressure in the system.
3.
Disconnect the hydraulic hose from the cylinder and extend this hose by mounting
the supplied extension piece (hose) between the original hose and the cylinder.
4.
Disconnect the drain hose from the cylinder.
5.
Prevent the locking pawl from engaging. For example, put a shim plate between the
teeth.
6.
Disassemble the two bearing blocks at the top of the legs from the tracks (see
Figure
7.3).
