Calculate ink content LX cartridge
A LX ink cartridge contains ca. 1,083 bn ink droplets of approx. 24 pl each. The system
counts the ink droplets printed and uses this to calculate the ink consumption.
The number of prints, which can be done with one cartridge, can be read in the menu.
The ink content can also determined by weighing:
A full LX cartridge weighs ca. 66 g ± 3 g. An empty cartridge weighs ca. 40 g ± 3 g. The
rest of an empty cartridge is max. 3 ml.
To rinse the nozzles manually
After extended periods of no printing, it may be necessary to rinse the ink cartridges to
open up clogged nozzle ducts again.
During rinsing (purging), all ink cartridge nozzle ducts are addressed to eject some ink.
Spitting takes 2 sec.
To initiate the spitting process, proceed as follows:
1.
Keep an absorbent cloth or paper in front of the nozzle plate of the ink cartridge!
2.
Touch the iLOGIK once in one of the status menus.
The Label submenu is displayed.
3.
Call the Service submenu by rotating the iLOGIK and select by pressing.
The Reset Ink Cnt. submenu is displayed.
4.
Call the Purge submenu by rotating the iLOGIK and select by printing.
The Purge submenu is displayed.
5.
Hold a damp cloth in front of the nozzle plate of the ink cartridge.
6.
Place a tick for Purge/Rinse by rotating the iLOGIK and initiate the rinsing process by
pressing. The rinsing (purging) process continues as long as the iLOGIK is pressed and
kept pressed, but a maximum of two seconds.
CAUTION!
Material damage due to squirting ink!
During spitting, squirting ink soils the surroundings.
Therefore:
– Hold a moist cloth in front of the ink cartridge nozzle plate.
