Extreme Cache

This section describes the installation requirements for PCIe Flash Modules (PFMs). A PFM is a module that is
installed to operate the Extreme Cache function.

Types of PFMs
The following types of options are available for the Extreme Cache.
1.4TB (700GB ´ 2)

2.8TB (1.4TB ´ 2)

Number of Installable PFMs
Two PFMs can be installed in each controller. Four PFMs can be installed in each ETERNUS DX.
PFMs with different capacity sizes can exist in the same storage system.
The Extreme Cache function is not available when AC100V connections are used because PFMs cannot be in-
stalled.
Policies for Estimating Extreme Cache
When installing Extreme Cache, select an Extreme Cache capacity according to the physical capacity of the read
access target drive.
