4 SETPOINT PROGRAMMING
S DEFAULT MESSAGES
S [ENTER] for more
After a period of inactivity, the 469 displays default messages. Between 1 to 20 default messages can be
selected. Multiple default messages automatically scan in sequence at a rate determined by S1 469 SETUP
\PREFERENCES\DEFAULT MESSAGE CYCLE TIME. Any actual value can be selected for default display; in addition,
up to five user programmable messages can be created and displayed (Message Scratchpad). For example,
the relay can alternately scan a motor identification message, the current in each phase, and the hottest stator
RTD. Default messages are shown in the S1 469 SETUP\DEFAULT MESSAGES subgroup.
a) ADDING DEFAULT MESSAGES
1. Enter the correct passcode for the S1 469 SETUP\PASSCODE\ENTER PASSCODE FOR ACCESS setpoint (unless
the passcode has already been entered or the passcode is 0, defeating the passcode security feature).
2. Move to the message to be added to the default message list using the

6. To verify that the message was added, view the last message in S1 469 SETUP\DEFAULT MESSAGES.
b) REMOVING DEFAULT MESSAGES
1. Enter the correct passcode at S1 469 SETUP /PASSCODE /ENTER PASSCODE FOR ACCESS (unless the passcode
has already been entered or unless the passcode is 0 defeating the passcode security feature).
2. Move to the message that is to be removed under the subheading S1 469 SETUP\DEFAULT MESSAGES.
3. When the default message to be removed is shown, press
REMOVE DEFAULT MESSAGE" is displayed:
