Removing the Cage Nut Screws

About this task

The cage nuts are supplied with pre-mounted screws. Remove the screws and put them aside for

later. See

About this task

After you have marked the location of the rail cage nuts on the posts, you can mount them onto the

square holes.

Procedure

1. Notice that the cage nut wings have different widths. It is easier to mount the cage nut if you

insert first the wide wing, and then the narrow wing.

2. Rotate the bottom cage nut so its wings are on the left and right sides of the cage nut.

Important:

This position facilitates the insertion of the top cage nut.

3. Compress the wings and insert them from behind the rack into the marked square hole.

Release the wings after the nut is in position inside the square hole.

4. Insert the second cage nut in the same way, in the square hole directly above it.

5. Repeat this procedure for each post.
