5.6.4 Connecting the CAN Cable

CAUTION
The 5 V CAN power supply is created by the connection
box. No external 5 V power supply can be connected to
the connection box CAN plugs. Failure to observe this
warning may result in damage to the connection box. If an
external 5 V power supply is needed, contact Danfoss
Service.
The CAN cable connects the connection box to the ISD
servo system.
1. Assemble the CAN cable according to the
connector pin assignment in 4.4.1.3 CAN
Connectors (X11-X15/X22-X25).
2. Lay the CAN cable according to the local
conditions.
3. Connect the CAN cable to the encoder box and
the connection box.
Use CAN line I if only 1 CAN line is being used.
Pay attention to the correct CAN cable number
when 2 CAN cables (for 2 connection boxes) are
being used.
Observe the connection diagrams in
4.3 Connection Cable/Cabling.
NOTE
Closed system
All CAN bus connectors on the front of the connection box
must be wired. Bridge plugs can be used.
