Chapter 2: Configuring the System
To set a new password when the old one expires using a Quick Edition IP
telephone
1. Select System Options on the Options menu, and log in. You are informed of password
expiry and prompted to set a new one.
2. Select the Ok softkey.
3. Enter the new password, and then select the Next softkey.
4. Re-type the new password to confirm it and then select the Next softkey.
5. Enter your old password, and then select the Next softkey.
6. Select the Ok softkey.
7. Press the PHONE/EXIT (

Device Management

Device Management, on the System Options web page, displays all physical devices that make
up the Quick Edition network. From this screen, you can select a device for editing; initiate a
software upgrade; begin a backup or restore operation.
Tip:
To add a telephone to the system simply connect the telephone to the LAN.
Tip:
Using P2P discovery protocols, the telephone will discover its peers, join the
network, assign itself an extension number, and enter itself into the Corporate
directory. You will be prompted to enter a name; comma-separated last and then
first. See

To enter a name using the telephone keypad
Press the dialpad key with the corresponding letter on it—press once to enter the first
letter, twice for the second letter, three times for the third letter, and four times for the
fourth letter. For example, to type "R", press the dialpad key "7" three times. To enter
the next character, wait for the cursor to move to the right automatically or press the
PAGE RIGHT (
To move the cursor to the left without deleting a character, press the PAGE LEFT (
