7.21 Carefully prise free the upper inner
tailgate trim panel to release the four
retaining clips
string to the wiring, to prevent it falling back
into the wing.
7 On refitting, connect the wiring connector,
and clip the light unit back into position.
Front foglight
8 Remove the front bumper as described in
Chapter 11.
9 Undo the three foglight retaining bolts and
remove the light unit from the bumper.
10 Refit the light unit to the bumper, and
securely tighten its retaining bolts.
11 Refit the front bumper as described in
Chapter 11.
Rear light cluster
12 Push the locking tabs forward and remove
the access cover from the luggage compartment
trim panel (see illustration 5.38).
13 If working on the right-hand side, remove
the tyre repair kit and the foam mounting box.
If working on the left-hand side, take off the
luggage compartment bracket and cover.
14 Using a small screwdriver, release the
sealing grommet from the top of the light
cluster (see illustration 5.40).
15 Reach in through the trim panel opening
and slacken the two light cluster plastic
retaining nuts.
16 Hold the light cluster from the outside and
unscrew the plastic nuts by hand the rest of
the way. Withdraw the light cluster from the
rear wing and disconnect the bulbholder wiring
connector (see illustrations 5.42a and 5.42b).
17 Refitting is the reverse of the removal
sequence.

Number plate light
18 Using a small flat-bladed screwdriver,
carefully prise the light unit out from its
location (see illustration 5.46).
19 Twist the bulbholder to remove it from the
light unit.
20 Refitting is the reverse of the removal
sequence.
High-level stop-light
21 Carefully prise free the upper inner tailgate
trim panel to release the four retaining clips
(see illustration).
22 Working through the apertures on the
inside of the tailgate, depress the three
retaining lugs to release the light unit from the
tailgate (see illustration).
23 Withdraw the light unit from outside the
tailgate and disconnect the wiring connector
(see illustration).
24 Reconnect the wiring connector, then
push the light unit into the tailgate until it locks
in position.
25 Refit the tailgate trim panel.

1 Accurate adjustment of the headlight beam
is only possible using optical beam-setting
equipment, and this work should therefore
be carried out by a Vauxhall/Opel dealer or
suitably-equipped workshop.
2 For reference, the headlights can be adjusted
using the adjuster assemblies fitted to the top
9.3b .•. and right-hand lower retaining
screw (arrowed)
7.23 Withdraw the light unit from the
tailgate and disconnect the wiring
connector
of each light unit. The inner adjuster alters the
vertical position of the beam. The outer adjuster
alters the horizontal aim of the beam.
3 Most models have an electrically-operated
headlight beam adjustment system, controlled
via a switch in the facia. The recommended
settings are as follows.
O Front seat(s) occupied
1 All seats occupied
2 All seats occupied, and load in luggage
compartment
3 Driver's seat occupied and load in the
luggage compartment
Note: When adjusting the headlight aim,
ensure that the switch is set to position 0.

and refitting
Note: The instrument panel is a complete
sealed assembly, and no dismantling of the
instrument panel is possible.
Removal
1 Disconnect the battery negative terminal
{refer to Disconnecting the battery in the
Reference Chapter).
2 Remove the steering column shrouds as
described in Chapter 11 .
3 Undo the two lower retaining screws, then
pull the panel away from the facia at the
bottom (see illustrations).
4 Disengage the top of the panel from the facia,
disconnect the wiring connector and remove
the panel from the car (see illustration).
