57 Undo the two screws securing the lower
trim panel to the tailgate. Pull the lower trim
panel away from the tailgate to release the ten
internal clips and remove the panel from the
tailgate (see illustrations 16.2a and 16.2b).
58 Carefully prise free the upper inner tailgate
trim panel to release the four retaining clips
(see illustration 15.1).
59 Undo the retaining screw each side, then
carefully prise free the upper side trim panels
(see illustrations).
60 Refitting is a reversal of removal.
Interior mirror
61 On models fitted with a rain sensor, unclip
and remove the sensor trim panel, then release
the retaining clip(s) and disconnect the wiring
connectors from the mirror assembly.
62 Press the retaining clip at the top of the
interior mirror mounting bracket, then carefully
release the interior mirror in the downwards

63 Refitting is the reverse of removal.
Removal
1 Disconnect the battery negative terminal
(refer to Disconnecting the battery in the
Reference Chapter).
2 Apply the handbrake fully, then unclip
and remove the console front panel (see
illustration).
3 At the rear of the console, remove the
stowage box by pulling it outward at the
bottom to release the retaining clips (see
illustration). Where applicable, disconnect
the wiring connectors at the rear of the panel.

4 Undo the two screws at the rear and two
screws at the front securing the console to the
mounting bracket (see illustrations).
5 Disconnect the wiring harness connectors
at the front of the console, and remove the
console from the car (see illustration).
Refitting
6 Refitting is a reversal of removal.

1 Unscrew the two quick-release catches
and remove the lower facia panel on the
passenger's side (see illustrations).
