4.2d ..• then remove the spring from the
caliper mounting bracket
4.2g •.. and remove it from the caliper
4.2j Remove the outer pad from the
caliper body •..
4.2m Brush the dust and dirt from the
caliper piston and mounting bracket
4.2e Remove the dust caps from the upper
and lower guide bo!ts
4.2h Similarly unscrew the lower guide
bolt and remove
it
from the caliper
4.2k ••• and the inner pad from the caliper
piston, noting that it is retained by a spring
clip attached to the pad backing plate
4.2n Apply a little high melting-point copper
brake grease to the pad backing plate
contact areas on the mounting bracket

4.2f Unscrew the upper guide bolt .••
4.2i Lift the caliper and brake pads off the
mounting bracket
4.21 Measure the thickness of the pad
friction material. If any are worn down to
the specified minimum, or fouled with oil
or grease, all four pads must be renewed
4.2o If new pads are fitted, before refitting
the caliper, push back the caliper piston
with the bleed screw open. This will prevent
any dirt/debris being forced back up the
hydraulic circuit in the ABS modulator
