2.4.3.2 Battery
WARNING
The RCS20 contains a Lithium Battery.
incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the
manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local and national regulations.
2.4.3.3 Fuses
CAUTION
Always replace the fuses with the correct fuse type and rating. Use correct fuses to
help prevent damage to the equipment.
Typical for either slide-in power module on the rear panel of the RCU (Redundancy Control Unit):
For AC operation, the RCS20 requires two

fuses that are contained within a fuse holder that is press-fit into the body of the IEC power inlet
module.
For DC operation, no fuses are required.

Connecting the RCS20

WARNINGS
Dangerous AC voltages exist inside of the RCS20 when either one of the AC Plug-in Switch
Modules are enabled or plugged in. Do not remove cover when AC power is applied.
Remove power cord from AC modules if top cover needs to be removed.
See Chapter 5 for additional information on replacing the AC/DC Plug-in Modules.
The RCU20 MUST be powered down when installing / removing the bank control I/O OR
when cabling up to the IFS20 or DDS20 with the CA3429 cables. Failure to do so can result
in damage to the bank control I/O and cause loss of redundancy in the system.
Use coaxial cable that is of good quality (e.g., RG58/U (50Ω) or RG59/U (75Ω)) for connections to the IF
Tx and Rx (transmit and receive) BNC female connectors.
Use Type 'D' connectors that have back-shells with continuous metallic shielding.
Type 'D' cabling must have a continuous outer shield (either foil or braid, or both). The shield must be
bonded to the back-shell.
