Chapter 4, FRONT AND REAR PANELS
4-2
An IP address consists of four numbers, each known as an octet and each of which
can range from 0 t0 255. The model 7230 displays these numbers by using red and
green flashes of the Status indicator, as follows. A long red flash indicates the start
and end of the address, short red flashes are digit separators, and the number of green
flashes equals the digit value, except that 10 green flashes equates to a value of 0
Step No.

If one loses track of the number of flashes, or miscounts them, then the display
process can be restarted by changing the setting of the rear panel Config 3 switch, as
described in section 4.2.07 It can also be restarted by cycling the instrument's power,
but if using an auto IP allocated address, or if the DHCP server takes time to allocate
an address, then it cannot begin until the new IP address has been determined, so it
will take longer.
