Use the FindLockin Page on the www.signalrecovery.com website.
This page, accessible via a link from the Model 7230 page on the website, will
search for model 7230's on the same network where their IP address shares the
same first three octets as the computer from which it is being run. This will
typically be the case where the controlling computer is in the same location or
department as the model 7230 (there can be up to 255 devices with IP addresses
that share the first three octets) so in most cases this will not be a limitation.
Count the Status Light Flashes
If neither of the above methods will work, then it is possible to count the flashes
of the front panel STATUS light, in accordance with the information in section
4.1.04
6) Once the IP address for the 7230 has been found, type it into the browser's
address bar and press <return>. The 7230's Main Controls panel should be
displayed.
7) Save the address as a shortcut, bookmark, or favorite.
Using this configuration you should be able to access the 7230 again in future simply
by selecting the favorite, bookmark, or shortcut. However, depending on the policy
of the DHCP server, and the length of leases that it grants, it may be that if the model
7230 is powered down and then turned back on again after a delay (e.g. over a
weekend) it may be allocated a different IP address by the DHCP server.
However, many DHCP servers keep a table of past IP address assignments, so that
they can preferentially assign to a client (such as the model 7230) the same IP
address that the client previously had. In this case the 7230 will normally get the
same address.
If, however, the address changes, then you will need to repeat the above procedure to
find the new address. One way of avoiding having to do this is, of course, to leave
the model 7230 permanently switched on and connected to the network.
